Strachan hails 'iron man' Phillips

25th March 2008
Coach Rick Strachan has saluted the "durability" of Excel Hull Stingrays defenceman David Phillips.

The Great Britain international, who was named the club's defenceman of the year, is one of just two players in the team - James Knight the other - to have played every game this season.

Strachan said: "You know what you are going to get with Davey. He is durable. He has played every game this season, he has played banged up and played through the pain. That's Davey.

He has a really bright future but he just needs to continue working hard and improving every year. That has to be his aim."
