Strachan - Players won't ease off

10th March 2008
Coach Rick Strachan insists Excel Hull Stingrays won't just go through the motions in their last three bmibaby Elite League games of the season after missing out on the play-offs.

Stingrays' 3-1 defeat at Newcastle Vipers saw them denied a place in the post-season for the second successive campaign.

But with a trip to Nottingham Panthers and home fixtures against Cardiff Devils and Manchester Phoenix to come, Strachan said: "We have to be professional and approach the last three games just as we did our first.

"The players need to be focused, work hard, show intensity and be right mentally - and they will be."
