Stingrays suffer in Wales

1st March 2008
Excel Hull Stingrays lost their 100% record against Cardiff Devils in the bmibaby Elite League this season after going down 4-1 in South Wales.

Troy Neumeier gave Stingrays a first-period lead but Mike Garrow levelled in the 36th minute before goals from Sylvain Deschatelets Matus Petricko and Brad Voth earned Devils a second successive win.

Coach Rick Strachan said: "For 35 minutes we played a good road game. We got in front and we put a lot of pressure on them but towards the end of the second period they scored on a four-on-two break and it gave them some momentum.

"I am disappointed but we now have two homes games in four days and if we play to our potential there is no reason why we can't pick up four points."

Stingrays are back in action tomorrow night when Cardiff visit Hull
