Mitchell sticks with Stingrays

16th April 2008
Excel Hull Stingrays have made their first signing for the 2008/09 bmibaby Elite League season by announcing the return of forward Lee Mitchell.

The 21-year-old, who saw last term come to a premature end after sustaining a knee-cartilage injury in January, will spend a fourth campaign with Stingrays.

Coach Rick Strachan said: "We are delighted to have Lee back. He is very professional on and off the ice and we hope he will continue to progress and have a big year for us.

"We believe his injury cost him a probable place in the GB squad for the World Championships but he will be fully fit for the start of next season and we expect Lee to go from strength to strength."
